Roni Owyang

As a student physical therapist, Roni understands the importance of movement and exercise. She also has a passion for working with children which stems from previous experiences as a camp counselor and after school program teacher. Hoping to impact the community in a meaningful way, Roni began to search for youth-focused volunteer experiences that emphasized the importance of exercise. She found KEEN and instantly fell in love with the community and its mission to empower youth with disabilities through fitness. She is excited to contribute to KEEN and looks forward to programs filled with fitness, friendship, and fun!

Roni was born and raised in Oakland, CA. She graduated with a major in Exercise Biology and a minor in Spanish from UC Davis. She is currently a student in the UCSF/SFSU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program with an expected graduation date of June 2021. After graduation, she hopes to work in a pediatric setting. In her free time, Roni enjoys being outdoors, exercising, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
